The Disability Supports for Employment Fund was created in April 2003 to provide specialized accommodation, such as vehicle or workplace modification, as well as tools and services to help persons with disabilities overcome barriers to participating in employment or employment-related activities.
(AEBC) is an organization dedicated to providing blind, deaf-blind and partially sighted individuals with the opportunities they need to compete on an equal basis with other members of Canadian society. Each year, the AEBC offers a minimum of three $1500 scholarships to recognize outstanding blind, deaf-blind, and partially sighted Canadian scholars.
The mandate of CHHA is to encourage awareness of hearing loss and to advocate self-help for hard of hearing or deafened people. Its aim is to achieve full hearing accessibility in Canadian society. The Canadian Hard of Hearing Association Foundation was established to create a perpetual financial legacy to support the activities of CHHA, and create specific initiatives for hard of hearing or deafened persons in Canada.
Offers $1000 bursaries to financially assist Canadian and permanent residents aspiring to become ASL interpreters to complete their studies. The student must be enrolled in their 2nd or 3rd years of a credited A.S.L. program.
The objective of the Skills Development Employment Benefit is to help unemployed individuals who do not have the required skills, obtain skills for employment. To be eligible for assistance under the Skills Development Employment Benefit an applicant must meet the definition of an "insured participant" under the Employment Insurance (EI) Act.
Offered by the Saint John Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services Inc. This Scholarship is intended to aid deaf students living in southwestern New Brunswick to further their academic pursuits.
Awarded to a person from Atlantic Canada studying in any field that will prepare them to work with children who are deaf or hard of hearing, or to an individual who is deaf or hard of hearing pursuing post-secondary studies.
